Students' conceptual understanding of vibration and wave material remains low, as indicated by the low percentage of students achieving the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). This condition is associated with teacher-centered learning, which limits students' opportunities to actively construct their understanding. Therefore, this study aimed to determine students' conceptual understanding after the implementation of the Learning Cycle 7E model and to analyze the differences in conceptual understanding between students taught using the Learning Cycle 7E model and those receiving conventional instruction. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent posttest-only control group design. The participants consisted of one experimental class and one control class of Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. Data were collected using a 20-item multiple-choice conceptual understanding test and analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Independent Sample t-test. The results showed that the experimental class achieved a mean score of 86.71, while the control class obtained a mean score of 76.41. The Independent Sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two classes. Therefore, the implementation of the Learning Cycle 7E model can improve students' conceptual understanding of vibration and wave material.
