Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the problem-solving abilities of students using the ICARE model and to determine the differences in problem-solving abilities. The type of research used is experimental research with a quasi-experimental design called "nonequivalent control group design" with the "posttest only control group design" model. The population of this study is all students of class X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Tambang for the academic year 2021-2022, with a sample of 59 students consisting of class X IPA 1 as the control class, which consists of 31 students, and class X IPA 2 as the experimental class. 28 students. The data collection instrument was in the form of a test of momentum and impulse problem-solving skills for class X SMA, which consisted of 5 essay questions. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis through the results of students' problem-solving abilities and inferential analysis through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent-sample t-tests with the help of SPSS version 23. The results show that the results of students' problem-solving abilities in the experimental class are better than in the experimental class. control and there are differences in the results of problem-solving abilities between the experimental class that applies the ICARE model and the control class that applies the conventional learning model.

Abstract

Salah satu contoh nyata abad ke-21 adalah penggabungan multimedia ke dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Cara terbaik untuk mengatasi kekurangan pembelajaran, terutama dalam pembelajaran pasca-pandemi, adalah dengan menggunakan TIK dalam pendidikan, seperti eksperimen virtual. Salah satu cara teknologi pendidikan dapat yang dapat digunakan untuk memodifikasi dan menampilkan eksperimen secara lengkap adalah melalui eksperimen virtual seperti VLM (Virtual Laboratory Model) merupakan salah satu pemanfaatan teknologi pendidikan yang dapat digunakan untuk memodifikasi serta menampilkan eksperimen secara lengkap. Salah satu contoh VLM yang marak digunakan adalah PhET. Tujuan pengabdian adalah optimalisasi pemanfaatan PHET dalam pembelajaran IPA Fisika bagi Guru-guru IPA SMP Rayon I Siak. Pelaksanaan kegiatan guru- guru SMP Rayon I Siak (Kecamatan Sungai Apit, Sabak Auh, dan Tualang) sebanyak 19 orang. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak Provinsi Riau dari tanggal 23-24 September 2022. Pelaksanaan kegiatan teridisi dari 5 bagian yaitu metode pemodelan, pelatihan, simulasi, diskusi dan implementasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah terjadi peningkatan keterampilan dan memberikan hasil yang baik ditunjukan dengan hasil angket  dan luaran pengabdian yang tercapai. Hasil angket pelatihan virtual laboratorium PhET memudahkan guru untuk praktikum, efektif efisien dan bermanfaat dalam pembelajaran IPA Fisika.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi atau Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) penting dikuasai mahasiswa untuk menghadapi berbagai tantangan abad 21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran learning cycle 7E dalam meningkatkan HOTS mahasiswa pada materi anatomi tumbuhan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen menggunakan rancangan one-group pre-test and post-test design dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 32 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan test essay, sementara analisis data menggunakan uji paired sample t-test and Cohen’s d formula. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa model pembelajaran learning cycle 7E berpengaruh signifikan [t(31) = 33.66, p < 0.001] terhadap peningkatan HOTS mahasiswa dengan kategori tinggi (d = 3,81). Oleh sebab itu, model learning cycle 7E efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) mahasiswa pada materi anatomi tumbuhan.

Abstract

The role of health workers is the most important part in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic. All coping policies affect the services provided in hospitals so that they have a negative impact on the health care sector. To reduce the transmission rate, good knowledge and behavior is needed for health workers. The purpose of this research is to know the differencelevel of knowledge and behavior of Covid-19 prevention among medical staff at Cut Nyak Dhien Hospital and Harapan Sehat Hospital. The type of method in this research is quantitative. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a total sampling technique and the number of samples was 128 people. The analysis used is the chi square test and Independent Sample T-Test. The results showed that there was a relationship between the level of knowledge and behavior of Covid-19 prevention at Cut Nyak dhien Hospital and Harapan Sehat Hospital with scoresP-value= 0.068 and 0.001 (p <0.05) while the Independent Sample T-Test showed that there was a significant difference between the knowledge of health workers at Cut NyakDhien Hospital and Harapan Sehat Hospital with a p valuevalue=( 0.039) < 0.05 while for prevention behavior the value isp-value=(0.009) <0.05 conclusion: There are differences in the level of knowledge and preventive behavior of medical personnel in the hospital.

Abstract

Background: Today, the main goal of science learning is to create a scientifically literate society by understanding mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and technology. Therefore, this research aims to determine the effectiveness of the process-oriented guided inquiry learning (POGIL) model in improving students' scientific literacy skills in a Plant Physiology course. Methods: This study was a quasi-experiment using a control group pre-test and post-test design with 32 students as research subjects. Data collection techniques used tests and research data were analyzed using a one-way ANCOVA statistical test. Results: The results showed a significant difference in scientific literacy skills between the control and experimental classes by controlling for students' initial scientific literacy [F(1,61) = 1977.228, p < 0.001], effect size np2 = 0.97. Conclusions: Therefore, the POGIL model is highly effective in increasing students' scientific literacy skills in the Plant Physiology Course.

Abstract

The background of this research stems from the minimal number of learning resources E-module Science E-module for class VII SMP, learning activities which are still monotonous and are still little used, there is a dichotomy of science and a learning model that is still teacher-centered which is synonymous with lectures, there is no module that contains SETS values, and UN results that do not meet the KKM on environmental pollution. The objectives of this research are: (1) Development of IPA E-module products. (2) Knowing the feasibility of the SETS-based IPA E-module, (3) Knowing the effectiveness of the application of SETS-based IPA modules. The product developed in this study is the SETS-based IPA E-module. Specifications for the science module in the form of printed media as a competency-based 2013 implementation curriculum. The subjects in this study were class VII students of junior high school. The sample consisted of teachers belonging to the Siak MGMP, and class VII students of SMP Nurul Furqon Siak. The validity test of the developed module can be seen from the validity test using the Pearson product moment test using SPSS 25 for windows software and so that the questionnaire used in this research is truly reliable as a data collection tool and can see the concentration of the questionnaire used, the questionnaire is tested for reliability or the level of trust can carry out Cronbach's alpha inferential test with the help of SPSS.The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative. The conclusion of this research is; First, SETS-based Science E-Module Development on environmental pollution material. Second, the development of SETS-based Science E-Modules can be said to be very practical in terms of the material aspect 3.25 the presentation is very good in language and graphics is very good so that it can be interpreted that the modules developed are said to be very good for use in science learning. Third, the development of well-developed SETS-based Science modules is effectively used to improve student learning outcomes. So it can be concluded that learning outcomes using SETS-based science modules are better than conventional learning.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to create a physics learning module for grade XI high school students based on the REACT learning model of sound wave content. The ADDIE model is being used in this research as part of a research and development project. The first step is to conduct a needs analysis and curriculum to see the problems in the field and then find a solution to overcome these problems, namely by developing a physics module based on the REACT learning model. The second step is designing, and the third is developing modules following the designed design. The produced physics modules have been approved by professionals and experts. The validation results show that the physics module based on the REACT learning model of sound wave material is declared valid. Before the product is applied to the field, the product is tested in small groups first on practitioners and students in small group trials. According to the answers from teachers and students, the physics module has a very good category, making it possible to use it in schools for the teaching process. The fourth phase entails putting the physics modules into practice or applying them to Class XI Science 1 students as an experimental class and Class XI Science 2 students as a control class that has already been evaluated for normalcy and homogeneity. It may be deduced that the data are normally distributed and that the control and experimental classes have homogeneous variance because the significant value for the control class was 0.200 and for the experimental class was 0.071. In the t-test, the average understanding ability of experimental class concepts was 76.30, and the standard deviation was 10.43, while the average understanding ability of control class concepts was 57.80, and the standard deviation was 11.44. Meanwhile, in the equality Means test, df and sig values were obtained. (2-tailed) or p-value, or H0 is rejected. The data thus confirm the proposed hypothesis, leading to the conclusion that the experimental class has a higher conceptual understanding than the control group.t=5.608, df=42, and sig. (2-tailed) or p-value = 0.000<0.005.

Abstract

Education in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has become one of the hot topics discussed, one of which is in the field of science. This high-quality generation is supported by skills, including collaboration, communication, professionalism, problem-solving, innovation, creativity, critical thinking, flexibility, business and management, digital literacy, agility, initiative, productivity, accountability, leadership, practical responsibility. intelligence, high ethical standards, dynamics, and resilience. NGSS provides students with continuous opportunities from primary to secondary school to develop and engage a deeper understanding of the three dimensions of science. This study is intended to determine the effectiveness of using project-based learning modules seen from the skills of students' SEPs. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 40 class XI students of Engineering Specialization, consisting of 20 female students and 20 male students from SMAIT Ulil Albab Batam. Data were collected using test techniques with Two-Tier Multiple Choice. (TTMC) instrument. The developed modules are effectively applied in physics learning to improve the skills of SEPs. This is indicated by the percentage value on each aspect of the SEPs. The results of the Science and Engineering Practices skill data analysis of students obtained test of normality pretest results of 42.4363 and posttest of 70.5765 (results using modules > without modules). In the homogeneity test used, namely Shapiro-Wilk, a significance value (p) pretest = 0.973 and posttest = 0.938 (p > 0.05), so it can be concluded that the SEPs skill data are normally distributed. Based on the results of calculations obtained from wide-scale trials, it shows that the value of N-Gain from the skills of SEPs in the aspects of SEPs 1 of 0.4875, SEPs 2 of 0.5067, SEPs 3 of 0.4062, SEPs 4 of 0.5146, SEPs 6 of 0.4887 and SEPs 8 of 0.5517, so that the average value of N-Gain of 0.49255 is obtained. So it can be concluded that the effectiveness of the module is in the medium category.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' creative thinking and written communication skills through the application of project-based learning methods (PjBL) on alternative energy materials. The study was conducted at MAN 2 Pekanbaru City, class X.5, involving 36 students. This classroom action research was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection. The instruments used included teaching modules, student worksheets (LKPD), observation sheets, and test questions. The results showed a significant increase in students' creative thinking skills. In cycle I, the fluency indicator reached 76%, flexibility 73%, originality 36%, and elaboration 63%. In cycle II, each indicator increased to 78%, 87%, 76%, and 87%. Written communication skills also increased, with the dimension of changing the form of data presentation increasing from 72% in cycle I to 78% in cycle II, and the accuracy of using tables and graphs from 79% to 87%. The PjBL method provides opportunities for students to be actively involved in learning through project activities that encourage creative thinking and effective communication. The results of this study indicate that the PjBL method is effective in improving students' cognitive and communication skills, although it requires further adjustments related to classroom management.

Abstract

Bahan ajar konvensional terkadang belum mampu meningkatkan minat baca dan pemahaman peserta didik yang berdampak pada hasil belajar, sehingga diperlukan adanya inovasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mendeskripsikan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 6 Kota Bengkulu pada materi bakteri, dan 2) mengetahui tingkat efektivitas booklet uji zona hambat lengkuas terhadap Escherichia coli. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen, model Nonequivalent control group design dengan teknik purposive sampling. Kelas kontrol pada penelitian ini adalah kelas X MIPA D dengan kelas X MIPA A sebagai kelas eksperimen. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar pretest dan posttest. Sementara itu, model pembelajaran kedua kelas disamakan yakni cooperative learning tipe jigsaw. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada nilai rata-rata pretest kelas kontrol dan eksperimen, yakni sebesar 41,76 dan 40,28. Begitu pula setelah pembelajaran, tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada nilai rata-rata posttest kelas kontrol dan eksperimen yakni sebesar 85,88 dan 86,39. Penggunaan booklet bakteri efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik di kelas eksperimen dengan nilai N-Gain pretest dan posttest sebesar 77%. Selain itu, peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik di kelas eksperimen berada di kategori tinggi dengan nilai N-Gain 0,77
