<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the types, strategies, and functions of illocutionary speech acts in Prabowo Subianto's speech on teacher salary increases at the 2024 National Teachers' Day commemoration. This study uses a pragmatic approach with a qualitative descriptive method and John Searle's illocutionary speech act theory. The research data were obtained from a video of Prabowo Subianto's speech uploaded through the government's official YouTube channel. Data collection techniques used listening, note-taking, and documentation techniques, while data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model. The results show five types of illocutionary speech acts, namely assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative, with assertive speech acts being the most dominant type. In addition, the use of direct and literal strategies in the delivery of the speech was found. Functionally, the illocutionary speech acts in the speech serve to build policy legitimacy, shape the leadership image, and influence public opinion regarding teacher welfare and education.]]>
