<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the critical literacy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students through the expository text “Sayangi Bumi” in the Indonesian Language course. This study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The research participants consisted of 15 students from Class VB and 1 fifth-grade teacher at SD Negeri 1 Prabumulih. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that students’ critical literacy skills are evident through four indicators: comprehension of the text’s content, analysis of information, evaluation of information, and presentation of arguments. Most students were able to comprehend the text’s content, identify important information, evaluate the content of the reading material, and express opinions and solutions to environmental issues. However, some students still struggle to identify the main idea, distinguish between facts and opinions, provide more in-depth reasoning, and present arguments supported by strong reasoning. Thus, students’ critical literacy skills have not yet developed uniformly across the entire student body, indicating that ongoing guidance and practice are still needed.]]>
