<![CDATA[21st-century education requires students to address various problems in daily life through problem-solving skills. However, students’ problem-solving skills in Indonesia are relatively below the average score of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Integrating local wisdom values into the learning process and applying learning models that present real-world problems, such as the Problem-Based Learning model, can actively engage students in the process of solving these problems. This study aims to describe the results of improvements in problem-solving skills, the implementation of learning, and student responses following the implementation of a Problem-Based Learning model based on local wisdom to enhance the problem-solving skills of junior high school students. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. Data collection techniques included problem-solving ability tests (pretest and posttest), observations of instructional implementation, and response questionnaires. The implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model has a significant impact on improving the problem-solving skills of junior high school students, as indicated by an effect size of 0.875221 classified as very large and an average N-Gain score of 0.6 classified as moderate. It can be concluded that the implementation of a Problem-Based Learning model based on local wisdom can improve the problem-solving skills of junior high school students.]]>
