<![CDATA[This research is motivated by various problems that occur in Indonesian language learning in schools on the Indonesia-Malaysia border, particularly at SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik Tengah. Learning Indonesian in the border region presents its own challenges because students and teachers. This study aims to: (1) describe the problems faced by 11th-grade teachers in Indonesian language learning at SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik Tengah, (2) describe the problems faced by 11th-grade students in Indonesian language learning at SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik Tengah. This research is a qualitative descriptive study conducted with three Indonesian language teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik Tengah. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions or verification. Data checking is carried out using triangulation of techniques and sources. The results of the study indicate that: (1) The problems faced by eleventh-grade teachers in Indonesian language learning at SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik Tengah include pedagogical aspects, professional level, learning media, learning materials, learning methods, and learning evaluation tool; (2) The problems faced by eleventh-grade students in Indonesian language learning include low reading interest, language skills, learning motivation, and the environment.]]>
