<![CDATA[The diversity of students' learning characteristics requires teachers to identify learning styles to support effective instruction. However, teachers often face challenges in recognizing these differences. This study aimed to describe teachers' strategies for understanding students' learning styles in Indonesian language learning for fifth-grade students at SDN Telaga Biru 5 Banjarmasin and to identify the challenges encountered. This qualitative descriptive study collected data through observations and interviews, which were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation. The findings showed that teachers identified students' learning styles through classroom observations, diagnostic assessments or questionnaires, personal interactions, and question-and-answer activities. These strategies helped teachers adapt instruction to students' learning needs. The main challenges included limited time, diverse student characteristics, and inadequate learning facilities. Therefore, teachers' pedagogical competence and creativity are essential for implementing effective learning strategies.]]>
