Low learning outcomes in Indonesian language studies indicate a need for more effective teaching models. This study aimed to improve the Indonesian language learning outcomes of third-grade students at SD Negeri 7 Jehem through the implementation of the direct instruction model. It was a classroom action research study conducted over two cycles, involving five third-grade students at the school. The results demonstrated that the direct instruction model successfully improved learning outcomes, as evidenced by the progression of scores from the initial test through Cycle I and Cycle II. In the initial test, student scores were relatively low, ranging from 60 to 70. By Cycle I, an improvement in learning outcomes was already apparent, with scores rising to the 65–75 range. A more significant improvement occurred in Cycle II, with scores reaching the 75–90 range, and all students achieved mastery of the learning objectives. Thus, the direct instruction model proved effective for enhancing learning outcomes and boosting student motivation in the third-grade class at SD Negeri 7 Jehem
