Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of physical, nutritional, and psychological (anxiety) aspects in supporting the optimal performance of early-stage football athletes, where ideal coaching must integrate these three aspects in a balanced manner. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of physical condition, nutritional status, and anxiety of athletes, as well as to analyze the relationship between physical condition level with nutritional status and anxiety level in U-15 football athletes of SSB Permata Kampak Trenggalek Regency. This study utilized a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The subjects of this study were all U-15 football athletes at SSB Permata Kampak, Trenggalek Regency, totaling 15 children, with the sampling technique using total sampling. The instruments used included physical condition tests (30-meter sprint test, shuttle run agility test, bleep test for endurance, and standing broad jump test for leg muscle explosive power), anthropometric measurements of Body Mass Index (BMI) for nutritional status, and the Sport Competition Anxiety Test (SCAT) questionnaire for anxiety levels. The data analysis technique used the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed that the average physical condition level of athletes was in the moderate category, the average nutritional status was in the normal category, and the average anxiety level was in the moderate category. The results of the hypothesis testing showed: (1) there was no significant relationship between physical condition and nutritional status (BMI) of athletes, with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.147 > 0.05; (2) there was a significant relationship between physical condition and athletes' anxiety level. This relationship was negative or inversely proportional, which means that the better the physical condition of the athlete, the lower the anxiety level felt when facing a match. The conclusion of this study is that optimal physical readiness plays a crucial role not only for bodily performance but also in maintaining the psychological stability of young athletes on the field.
