Abstract: This study aims to develop and evaluate a microcontroller-based hydrogen gas monitoring system using the MQ-8 sensor. The research includes sensor calibration, sensor performance testing, and protection system testing. Results show that the MQ-8 sensor can detect hydrogen concentration changes in real time, while the protection system effectively provides warnings and activates safety controls when dangerous gas levels are detected. The system can therefore be used as an effective monitoring and protection tool for hydrogen generator safety. Keywords: Internet of Things, Microcontroller, MQ-8 Sensor, Calibration, Hydrogen Protection, Air Monitoring Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan menguji sistem monitoring serta proteksi gas hidrogen berbasis mikrokontroler menggunakan sensor MQ-8. Penelitian meliputi kalibrasi sensor, pengujian sensor, dan pengujian sistem proteksi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sensor MQ-8 mampu mendeteksi perubahan konsentrasi hidrogen secara real-time, sementara sistem proteksi dapat memberikan peringatan dan mengaktifkan mekanisme pengamanan saat kadar hidrogen melebihi batas aman. Sistem yang dikembangkan terbukti efektif sebagai alat monitoring dan proteksi untuk meningkatkan keselamatan pengguna dan lingkungan.
