Nematode worms that require soil for their infective stage development are classified as soil-transmitted helminths (STH). Human infections are predominantly caused by STH species such as hookworms (Necator americanus and Ancylostoma duodenale), Trichuris trichiura, and Ascaris lumbricoides. Elementary school children represent a high-risk group frequently affected by STH infections. This study aimed to identify STH presence in the stool samples of grades 1–3 students at SDN Nawungan, Selopamioro, Imogiri, Bantul. This research conducted a descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 16 stool samples from students in grades 1–3 were obtained using a purposive sampling technique, with the inclusion criteria of students who were willing to collect stool specimens at the designated time. Stool sample included macroscopic and microscopic evaluation using the sedimentation technique. STH species were identified by examining the microscopic features of the eggs under 400x magnification. While macroscopic findings indicated normal stool characteristics, microscopic examination confirmed the presence of Ascaris lumbricoides and hookworm eggs. The study concludes that the prevalence of STH infection among grades 1–3 students at SDN Nawungan, Selopamioro, Imogiri, Bantul, was 12.5%.
