<![CDATA[Android smartphone is one of device that has been used a lot by society. This device is also often used as a medium for information exchange. Android device also has a relatively small memory storage compared to laptop and computer. File compression is a technique used to shrink a file’s size. Using this technique, a file inside an Android device then can be shrunk so it can save the storage space. Besides that, this compression technique is also useful to speed up information exchange because the size of information sent become smaller. The compression algorithm used is Lempel-Ziv 77. This compression algorithm is able to produce a compressed file with 0,4 ratio compression on text and bitmap image filetype.
