Abstract

This research discusses the importance of a web-based geographic information system (GIS) in supporting the provision of complete and integrated information for elementary schools in Pontianak City District. The goal of this system is to create an interactive and user-friendly platform to present data on school locations, profiles, facilities, and other relevant information. This study uses Unified Modeling Language (UML) as the technique for system analysis and design, and the waterfall model as the system development approach. The system includes features such as interactive maps, data required to support decision-making regarding elementary schools, comparisons based on criteria, and the integration of geographic data managed through a secure database management system. The research develops and implements a web-based information system designed to map the locations of elementary schools in the area. The results of this study are expected to improve the efficiency of mapping and provide valuable information for the community and stakeholders in planning educational policies, as well as developing a responsive and effective system.

Abstract

With the development of information technology, the employee attendance recording system at Global Graphic Printing is still done manually, which has the potential to cause inaccuracy and lack of detail in the resulting reports. This study aims to develop a responsive web-based attendance system by utilizing QR Code technology, so that it can be accessed directly through each employee's device. The methods applied include system development using the waterfall method and QR Code-based system design integrated with a web platform and MySQL database, allowing real-time attendance recording. In its development, this study uses Unified Modeling Language (UML) modeling. The attendance system is designed using Android Studio with PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS programming languages. The implementation of this system is expected to reduce manual recording errors, speed up the attendance process, and increase report transparency. Thus, this system has the potential to increase company productivity and create a more organized work environment.

Abstract

In the rapidly developing digital era, technology can help a company improve efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness in business. PT QAM's purchasing information system still relies on simple computerization, namely recording, processing, and storing locally. Simple computerization that is implemented has the potential to reduce operational effectiveness in goods requests and goods purchase data collection. This study aims to develop a responsive web-based purchasing information system so that it can be accessed directly by staff through each staff's device, either via mobile phone or via computer. The methods applied in this study include system development using the iterative waterfall model and a web-based integrated system along with the use of the MySQL database as data storage, allowing real-time data collection of goods requests and purchases. In the development of this study, Unified Modeling Language (UML) modeling was used. The implementation of this system is expected to be able to record data effectively, store data safely, and facilitate report printing. Thus, this system has the potential to increase the productivity and effectiveness of the company.

Abstract

Usaha Dagang Afen is a is a business that sells various accessories such as: wallets, bags, jewelry boxes and so on. This business has not yet implemented a computerized based information system and has not used a database as a storage. Usaha Dagang Afen still uses a conventional system where there is no record of incoming, outgoing, and quantity of goods, so there is often a shortage or shortage of unknown goods which hinders selling, and inaccurate accounts receivable. The method of data collection carried out by the author is by interview, observation and literature study. The analysis technique used is an object-oriented analysis technique with the Unified Modeling Language (UML) as the modeling language and StarUML Ver 5.0.2.1570 as the modeling application. The system design application used is Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 as the programming language, MySQL ODBC 5.3 Unicode Driver, XAMPP Control Panel ver 3.3.0, MySQL ver 8.0 as the system design and database processing application. Based on the results of the research conducted, the authors produced a desktop based selling and inventory application that helps minimize the occurrence of incomplete invoices and uncontrolled inventory. Abstract

This research implements the autocomplete feature and the Turbo Boyer Moore algorithm on an Android-based chemical term dictionary application. The autocomplete feature allows users to quickly search for chemical terms by entering only the first few letters, while the Turbo Boyer Moore algorithm is used for efficient string matching. This research uses data collection techniques, object-oriented system analysis, and application design techniques using Android Studio and SQLite. The result is an Android-based chemical term dictionary application that speeds up the search process and display relevant word suggestions. The conclusion that researchers can give from the results of applying the autocomplete feature and the Turbo Boyer Moore algorithm in this chemical term dictionary application is that it can search quickly and accurately, and minimizes time in typing patterns. The author gives advice to readers to be able to add other features such as the autocorrect features, voice recognition and can combine it with other algorithms. Abstract

Personality testing is an activity conducted by individuals to identify and obtain results about their personality traits. One method used for this purpose is the DISC method (Dominant, Influence, Steadiness, Compliance). Implementing this method in personality testing is expected to be beneficial in business, employment, and organizational. Moreover, companies may consider using this test when recruiting employees. The rapid advancement of technology and the widespread use of Android-based mobile devices, reaching 79.96% in 2022, alongside the previously manual administration of personality tests, are primary factors driving the development of a mobile personality test application using the DISC method. This application is designed as a questionnaire to be filled out by individuals, and upon completion, the results will be immediately displayed to them. To enhance the test results, the application will provide general information about the characteristics, common traits, and example jobs associated with each personality type based on the DISC theory. This information aims to help individuals expand their understanding, knowledge, and application of the DISC method across various domains, including education, employment, organizations, and personal development. Additionally, the application implements the Linear Congruential Generator (LCG) as a randomization algorithm for the questionnaire, ensuring that each individual receives unique questions. Abstract

CV Kharisma Lestari is a retail business that faces obstacles in its sales and inventory management systems due to its continued use of manual processes. This study aims to develop a Point of Sales (POS) Information System by applying the prototyping method to improve the operational efficiency of CV Kharisma Lestari. The prototyping method was chosen for its ability to actively involve users from the early stages, so that the resulting system can meet their needs and expectations. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with prototyping stages : communication, quick plan, modeling quick design, construction of prototype, and deployment delivery and feedback. The results of the study show that the POS system developed successfully automates the sales transaction process, manages inventory data in real-time, and generates accurate inventory and sales reports. The implementation of this system has a significant impact on reducing transaction time by up to 70% and increasing inventory data accuracy. The System Usability Scale (SUS) test on the system resulted in a score of 85.8, which indicates a very high level of user acceptance (usability). Thus, the prototyping method has proven to be effective in producing an information system that is not only functional but also easy to use, as it is able to capture user needs and feedback.

Abstract

The new student admission process (PMB) often faces queue management issues, as prospective students must wait in line to submit documents, verify data, and consult staff. This study designed a user interface (UI) for a PMB queueing system at Universitas Widya Dharma Pontianak (UWDP) using the Design Thinking approach. The UI was created with Figma as an interactive prototype and later developed into a web-based application. Design Thinking consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test to ensure the solution meets user needs. During empathize, interviews and observations were conducted with students and the PMB committee to identify queue-related problems. The findings were turned into user personas and problem statements in the define stage. Next, the ideate stage produced prioritized solution ideas, followed by a user interface prototype in Figma. The resulting prototype visualizes the queueing process from registration to student call-outs, featuring remote queue number retrieval, and the real-time queue display. The prototype was tested using the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire with 30 prospective students. The average SUS score was 78.5, classified as "acceptable" with a grade B (Good). This indicates that the prototype has good acceptance and meets user needs in terms of ease of use and clarity of queue information. This research contributes to the development of digital queueing systems in higher education and enriches the literature on applying Design Thinking to new student admissions.
