This study aims to see how parents' reception as an audience in interpreting LGBT issues in the article "LGBT Worries Widespread" by kumparan. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach method. In this study, researchers used two categories of sources, namely news producers as encoders, and audiences as decoders. Data collection techniques in this reception analysis study were taken from the research methodology proposed by Jensen, and several methods that the author used to collect data. Based on the results of the reception analysis study of five respondents, three respondents were positioned in a dominant-hegemonic position because they were able to fully capture the message content and meaning related to digital security issues as well as the delivery of the humanist and psychological side of the LGBT group. One respondent named Nina was positioned in a negotiated position because in her reading she was able to capture the message content, but did not accept it completely on the grounds that excessively narrated LGBT issue reporting could cause a stir in the community, and was quite limiting. Finally, a respondent named Lovina was positioned in an opposition position because in this case the respondent completely rejected the message content and meaning conveyed by the message writer on the grounds that it could cause misunderstandings for some audiences to normalize LGBT behavior due to the elevation of the humanist and psychological side of LGBT.
