Literary works not only represent social realities but also transmit educational values through characters, conflicts, and social interactions. This study examines how social and educational values are represented in Panji Wijaya’s novella Jejak Kaki di Tanah Luka from the perspective of literary sociology. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis, the study uses the novella as its primary source, while textual excerpts containing social and educational values constitute the research data. Data were collected through literature review, close reading, and note-taking and were analyzed through data reduction, classification, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal social values encompassing social solidarity, social concern, mutual cooperation, sacrifice, nationalism, unity, social leadership, and respect for national heroes. The novella also embodies educational values related to morality, social responsibility, religiosity, character formation, and nationalism. These values are represented through the characters’ actions, behaviors, and interpersonal interactions throughout the narrative. The study concludes that Jejak Kaki di Tanah Luka functions not merely as a literary work for aesthetic enjoyment but also as a medium of social reflection and education that communicates socially and morally significant values to its reader.
