This study aims to analyze the role of Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) Hira in the economic empowerment of the community in Donoyudan Village, Kalijambe District, Sragen Regency. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using domain, taxonomic, componential, and cultural theme analysis. The findings show that BMT Hira contributes to economic empowerment through the provision of sharia-based financing, savings services, financial education, business assistance, and the management of ZISWAF funds. These roles demonstrate the integration of the Baitul Tamwil function through financing services and the Baitul Maal function through social activities. In its implementation, BMT Hira faces several challenges, including limited public understanding of Islamic finance, financing risks associated with agricultural activities, limitations in capital and technology, and competition from informal financing sources. BMT Hira responds to these challenges through direct education using a jemput bola approach, flexible financing arrangements based on business conditions and harvest periods, cooperation with larger institutions, information system modernization, and relatively accessible and responsive services while maintaining sharia principles. The study indicates that economic empowerment through BMT involves the integration of financing, social functions, education, business assistance, and institutional adaptability to local community conditions.
