<![CDATA[The development of social media has influenced adolescents’ social and emotional experiences, particularly through Instagram use and the emergence of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO). This study aimed to examine the role of Instagram usage intensity and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) as predictors of emotion regulation among junior high school students in Palembang City. This study employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto correlational design. The participants were 102 junior high school students selected using purposive sampling based on predetermined criteria, including students aged 12–15 years who had used Instagram for at least six months and actively accessed Instagram at least three times a week. Data were collected using scales of Instagram usage intensity, Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), and emotion regulation. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics. The results showed that Instagram usage intensity and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) simultaneously had a significant role in predicting emotion regulation (F = 32.726, p < 0.05) with a contribution of 39.8% (R² = 0.398). Partially, Instagram usage intensity and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) significantly predicted emotion regulation. These findings indicate that adolescents’ emotion regulation is related to both their involvement in Instagram use and their psychological experiences in digital social interactions.]]>
