<![CDATA[Students' lack of proficiency in measuring area units, brought on by the persistence of traditional teaching methods, is the impetus for this study. The Problem Based Learning (PBL) paradigm is one of the competent learning paradigms. The goal of this research is to find out how well fifth graders at SDN 52 Pangkalpinang grasp the concept of "Area of Flat Shapes" using the Problem Based Learning approach. The study's experimental design is a quasi-experimental one, and the control group is not identical. The number of students included in the research was 34. A comprehensive sampling method was used in the sampling process. A test approach was employed for data collecting. According to the findings of the reliability test, which was 0.0861> 0.60, and the validity test, which was conducted using an instrument, yielded a significant value of <0.05. A statistically significant result of 0.061> 0.05 was produced by the data analysis method of the normality test utilizing the Kolmogorov Smirnov test. A result of 0.076> 0.05 was rendered significant in the homogeneity test conducted using the Levene test. On average, the experimental group achieved a posttest score of 88.88, while the control group had an average score of 82.43. The independent sample t-test findings demonstrated a significant value of 0.014 < 0.05, leading to the acceptance of Ha and rejection of Ho.
