Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of motivation through the provision of official housing based on Government Sharia Securities (SBSN) and the work environment on the performance of soldiers at Kodaeral VI Makassar. This study employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The sample consists of 86 respondents selected using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires to the respondents. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression supported by t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results indicate that motivation through the provision of SBSN-based official housing has a positive and significant effect on soldiers’ performance (p = 0.028), and the work environment also has a positive and significant effect on performance (p = 0.038). Simultaneously, both variables have a significant effect on soldiers’ performance (p = 0.003). The coefficient of determination of 13.2% shows that motivation and the work environment contribute to performance, although other factors also influence it. Thus, this study confirms that enhancing motivation through adequate provision of official housing, supported by a conducive work environment, can improve soldiers’ performance optimally.
