<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the use of CANEL (car number line) media in developing early childhood numeracy skills. The research background concerns children’s limited understanding of number concepts, number symbols, and basic arithmetic operations introduced through conventional methods. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Participants were 15 children aged 5–6 years. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that CANEL media provides children with meaningful, concrete and more interactive numeracy learning experiences. Children were able to connect number symbols with quantities, understand number sequences, and perform simple addition and subtraction. CANEL media also supported children’s engagement, motivation, and self-confidence during learning activities. Thus, CANEL media can be used as an alternative for early childhood numeracy learning.]]>
