Music serves as a communication medium capable of representing emotional experiences, including the grieving process following loss. This study aims to analyze the representation of the Five Stages of Grief in the lyrics of One More Light by Linkin Park using Roland Barthes semiotic analysis. A qualitative approach was employed, applying Barthes three levels of signification: denotation, connotation, and myth. The data consisted of the song lyrics, which were interpreted through the framework of Elisabeth Kübler-Ross's Five Stages of Grief theory. The findings reveal that the lyrics represent four stages of grief: denial, bargaining, anger, depression, and acceptance. Among these, depression is the most dominant stage, reflected through expressions of sorrow, longing, memories, and emotional emptiness after loss. At the level of myth, the song conveys a humanistic ideology that every human life is valuable, loss is a universal human experience, and empathy is an essential value in supporting those who are grieving. These findings demonstrate that song lyrics function not only as artistic expression but also as a medium for communicating emotional support and the meaning of loss.
