Abstract

Communication strategies are needed to produce a communication process that can be understood by the recipient of information in achieving goals. Therefore, the organization / or company must develop the right communication strategy so that the message conveyed to the target object can be understood properly. research was conducted to analyze the performance of the Tourism Office in implementing the strategy of the Creative Village, especially in the aspect of communication, because there are still many villages that do not participate in the activities of the Creative Village, this is due to the lack of understanding of the Village community about what, the purpose, the why and the elements of the Creative Village itself. Therefore, the thesis that the researcher made was entitled "Communication Strategy of the Tourism Office in Building Creative Villages". The purpose of the research is to find out the communication strategy of the Padang City Tourism Office, as well as to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing this communication strategy. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, types of field research and data collection techniques by conducting participatory observations, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research on the communication strategy of the Padang City Tourism Office Using the stages of communication strategy, namely: 1. Getting to know the audience, 2. Compiling messages, 3. Methods used, 4. Selection and use of media. This is also inseparable from the existence of supporting and inhibiting factors. And after the results of the research on the communication strategy of the Padang City Tourism Office in building a Creative Village has been carried out well, it's just that there are still some village people in Padang City District who do not understand what the Village is about, the purpose, why and the elements of the Creative Village so they choose not to participate in the Creative Village activities.

Abstract

This research is entitled "The Influence of Catcalling on the Attitudes of Hijab-wearing Women in Tanjung Batu Village, Ogan Ilir Regency." The aim of this research is to determine the effect of catcalling on the attitudes of hijab-wearing women in Tanjung Batu Village, Ogan Ilir Regency and the factors that cause catcalling among hijab-wearing women. This research is a quantitative approach that is correlational in nature. This research uses the S-O-R theory. The subjects of this research were 23 women wearing the hijab using purposive sampling techniques from a total population of 30 women wearing the hijab. With a sampling formula using the Solvin formula and a value of e = 0.1 (10%) for large populations. The data collection technique used a Likert questionnaire which was distributed to 23 women wearing the hijab and documentation. The data analysis technique uses a one sample t-test. The results of this research show that there is no influence and no significant relationship between catcalling and the attitudes of women wearing the hijab in Tanjung Batu Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. This is based on the results of statistical hypothesis testing using the SPSS.22 program which obtained a calculated t value of t = 0.960 < 2.080 with a significance of 0.348, so Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected. This is reinforced by findings in the field where women wearing the hijab in Tanjung Batu Village do not have an in-depth understanding and knowledge of catcalling and most of the attitudes of women wearing the hijab are influenced by other variables such as personal, traumatic experiences, people who are considered important, social media, friendship, romance and etc.

Abstract

The spread of the coronavirus pandemic or Covid-19 has provided its own challenges for educational institutions in Indonesia, one of which is SMKN 1 West Sumatra is one of the vocational education institutions in Padang City. In the online learning process, many students do not understand the material taught by the teacher and there is a problem of declining grades in students. When students are in a condition of not having motivation to learn, this is where the role of teachers to provide motivation to students is with persuasive communication techniques. The purpose of this study is to reveal proportionally the influence of teachers' persuasive communication on the learning motivation of students of SMKN 1 West Sumatra during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a type of quantitative research. The sampling technique is a simple random sampling technique. The sample of this study is class X students of SMKN 1 West Sumatra which totals 84 students. A simple linear regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis with the SPSS 24 program. The results of this research show that the Persuasive Communication variable of the Teacher Persuasive Communication category is quite good. The results indicate that there is an influence between teachers' persuasive communication and students' motivation to learn during the Covid-19 pandemic. Learning activities in the teacher's classroom tend to use persuasive communication, to direct student behavior in the teacher's classroom to apply a democratic and permissive discipline model. Teachers do not give heavy sanctions, but are more dominant in the directions and advice that motivate students to be better.

Abstract

This research is about public relations communication strategies in improving the image of the Padang city district government through social media. In forming the image of an institution, public relations has a broad relationship. In its role as a connecting bridge, government public relations collects, processes and disseminates information related to programs or policies, activities and achievements achieved by institutions to institutional responses to responses, aspirations and opinions that develop in society. Through social media, the Padang city district government continues to strive to improve the positive image of the region. The objectives to be achieved from this research are to find out how the public relations strategy of the Padang city Regency government improves the image of Padang city Regency through social media and to find out what are the inhibiting factors of public relations in implementing communication strategies through social media to improve the image of Padang city Regency.This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive type. Descriptive qualitative research tends to use analysis that is used to investigate, discover, describe, and explain the qualities or features of social influence. In this case the researcher will conduct a descriptive study of a phenomenon about how Padang city district public relations can enhance its positive image through social media. The subject in this study was public relations for the Padang city District by conducting interviews with 2 (two) informants. The results in this study indicate that the public relations of the Padang city district government continues to improve its positive image by providing information to the public about local government programs through social media which can make it easier for the local government to communicate with the community. Public Relations of Padang city district provides information using social media through Instagram, Facebook and Whats Aap and Youtube groups about program plans and the development of local government activities in a transparent manner to the public in order to get sympathy and a positive image. In addition, the local government public relations took advantage of the influence of several community leaders such as religious leaders, traditional leaders and youth leaders. The inhibiting factors for public relations in implementing communication strategies through social media to improve the image of Padang city Regency are the lack of response from the community, the limited media used, the proximity to residents who live in remote areas and the negative perceptions that exist in the community itself.

Abstract

The phenomenon of sleep hours on student learning achievement is a topic that needs to be discussed because the sleep hours themselves will affect the achievements achieved by students, students as one of the student component units are required to meet basic needs, namely sufficient sleep hours, To maintain human survival is required to have enough sleep hours. Basically, enough hours of sleep are needed. Sleep is a basic need needed by everyone. Everyone needs enough sleep so that the body can function normally. In the sleeping state, the body carries out a recovery process to restore the body's stamina to an optimal condition, so that he can carry out normal activities the next day. Students or students also need enough rest time to maintain the stability of their health, insufficient sleep hours will affect the learning process which of course will also affect their learning achievement as well. Learning achievement is the result of measuring and assessing students or students during the study period at an educational institution. In this study, the population we used was students of the Faculty of Communication and Multi-Media Sciences, Mercubuana University Yogyakarta Class of 2021, while the sample was fikom students themselves. This type of research is quantitative research. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire on the influence of sleep hours and learning achievement data obtained and then analyzed using SPSS software. The results showed that the value of Sig. on deviation from linearity was 0.711 which showed that there was a linear relationship between the X variable and the Y variable. The quadratic R coefficient in the linear regression test results is 0.051 which means that 5.1% of learning achievement can be explained by students' sleep habits. So from the analysis data that has been carried out, it can be concluded that student sleep hours have an influence on the achievement of FIKOMM students at Mercu Buana University Yogyakarta.

Abstract

The background of this research is the problem of the right to wages and the obligations of basic tasks and functions in each field, where wages are a worker's right to meet their living needs, both primary and secondary needs. Work has obligations to the employment company Detik Sumsel. So the author determined the title of this research regarding "Analysis of the Effect of Work Wage Rights on Improving Employee Performance at Detik Sumsel". The aim of the research is to determine the effect of wage rights on the performance of Detik Sumsel employees. This type of quantitative research uses data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires and documentation. With data analysis techniques through validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, simple linear regression tests and hypotheses, using the SPSS Version 26.00 program. The research results show. It can be seen from the obtained hypothesis test values which prove that the results of the t test calculation show that hin is 13.017 while  is concluded to be 1.69726 because the value of hin> e???? can be stated that Wage Rights (X) influence Employee Performance (Y). By obtaining a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, it is declared significant. The result of the Fcount value is 5.929 with the Ftable value being 3.34 so that the Fcount > Ftable value (5.929 > 3.34) means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that Wage Rights have a very positive and significant influence on employee performance in Detik Sumsel with a percentage score of 74.7% which is categorized as achieving the highest score or having a strong relationship.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out about the relationship between Social Media Marketing Instagram account @shukagrill Brand Awareness (Case Study of All You Can Eat Restaurant with Three Furnaces). The independent variable (X) is social media marketing and the dependent variable (Y) is brand awareness. The indicators used for Social Media Marketing variables are Content Creation, Content Sharing, Connecting, and Community Building. Brand Awareness indicators include Unaware of Brand, Brand Recognition, Brand Recall, and Top of Mind. This research uses a descriptive approach with Quantitative methods. The sample technique uses non-probality sampling with the criteria of followers of @shukagrill Instagram account. This study was conducted by distributing questionnaires and observations to 164 respondents. It was found that there was a relationship between social media marketing and brand awareness through Instagram @shukagrill of 3,58 in the high category. Respondents get information about AYCE three furnace products through content produced by Instagram accounts @shukagrill which are informative, clear, and educational. These results can clearly be seen that there is a unidirectional or positive relationship.

Abstract

The digital era brings easy access to information, but also presents challenges in the form of the spread of hoax news that misleads the public. This study discusses the importance of critical thinking as a key skill in facing these challenges. Critical thinking involves evaluating, analyzing, and understanding information objectively, so that individuals can distinguish fact from opinion, identify bias, and make informed decisions. Steps such as verifying information sources, looking for supporting evidence, and developing a healthy skeptical attitude are important strategies in filtering information and avoiding hoax traps. With critical thinking skills, individuals can not only protect themselves from false information, but also contribute to the creation of a healthier and more responsible information environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of culture shock on the mental health of students in 2024 in Yogyakarta. As an educational city that attracts many students from various regions, Yogyakarta is a place where students often experience significant cultural shifts. Culture shock can trigger various mental health issues, such as stress, anxiety, and depression, which affect students' academic performance and quality of life. The research method employed is a quantitative survey involving new students as respondents. The results indicate that students experiencing culture shock tend to have lower mental health levels compared to those who successfully adapt to their new environment. Additionally, factors such as social support, involvement in cultural activities, and orientation programs play a crucial role in mitigating the negative effects of culture shock. This study recommends that educational institutions provide comprehensive orientation programs and psychological support services to help students adapt more effectively, thereby improving their mental health and academic performance.

Abstract

In this increasingly advanced digital era, library public relations requires a communication strategy in providing excellent service to attract visitors, because nowadays they are more interested in finding information on the internet than reading books. Therefore, an effective communication strategy is needed from the Musi Banyuasin Regency Library and Archives Office to introduce its services and collections to the public. This research aims to find out the communication strategy of public relations in improving excellent service to library visitors and to find out the public response to the excellent service provided by the Library and Archives Office of Musi Banyuasin Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach, where the data is obtained through observation, interview and documentation methods. The results showed that the Office of Libraries and Archives of Musi Banyuasin Regency has provided excellent service to visitors by applying the five dimensions of excellent service namely reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and providing various facilities that make visitors feel comfortable. In addition, the Musi Banyuasin Regency Library and Archives Office has received positive and constructive feedback on the excellent service they have provided. So that the response from the public makes the library want to always provide the best services and collections for the public.
