<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the effects of training and competency development on employee performance in the Production Department of PT. Sam Sam. The research problem focuses on the suboptimal improvement of employee performance despite the implementation of training and competency development programs. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of 186 employees in the Production Department, while 127 respondents were selected using the Slovin formula through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The results show that training had a negative regression coefficient but did not have a significant effect on employee performance (? = ?0.289; p = 0.073). In contrast, competency development had a positive and significant effect on employee performance (? = 0.889; p < 0.001). Simultaneously, training and competency development had a significant effect on employee performance (F = 43.128; p < 0.001), with an R² value of 0.410, indicating that the two independent variables explained 41.0% of the variance in employee performance. Based on the standardized beta coefficient, competency development was more dominant than training in explaining employee performance. These findings indicate that the company needs to strengthen its competency development strategy through improvements in employees' knowledge, skills, abilities, and work attitudes, while continuously evaluating the relevance and effectiveness of training programs according to job requirements.]]>
