The Archimedes screw turbine is a promising technology for low-head hydropower because of its simple construction and low maintenance requirements. This study investigated the performance of a three-pitch Archimedes screw turbine by varying shaft inclination angles (31°, 39°, and 47°) under five flow discharge rates (0.004704–0.014113 m³/s). Experiments were conducted using a laboratory-scale test rig. Flow discharge, shaft rotational speed, and generator output were measured using a weir meter, tachometer, and multimeter. Increasing flow discharge consistently increased shaft rotational speed and turbine output power. The maximum output power of 61 W was achieved at a 47° inclination angle with a discharge of 0.014113 m³/s, while the highest efficiency of 71% was obtained at the same angle with 0.007057 m³/s. Efficiency decreased beyond the optimum operating condition because of hydraulic losses, including turbulence, leakage flow, and backflow. Optimizing shaft inclination and operating discharge is essential for improving low-head hydropower performance.
