<![CDATA[The use of photo archives remains largely subordinate, especially in historical and cultural studies in Indonesia. The condition of Wonogiri's photo archives is considered vulnerable to extinction due to minimal preservation and conservation. This study aims to analyze the use of Wonogiri's photo archives in reviving collective memory through heritage tourism design. This study uses a descriptive qualitative analysis method, with a data collection model comprising photo archives from the colonial period to the 1990s and photographic observation. This study uses a postcolonial perspective to uncover the colonial framing behind the photographic works. The results show that Wonogiri's photo archives have untapped potential, as they record traces of Wonogiri's heritage and life from the past. The strategy for utilizing photo archives is developed by preparing a storytelling design focused on heritage and historical traces for each recorded destination. Thus, photo archives can revive collective memory while developing heritage tourism in Wonogiri. This research suggests that systematic, structured policies and implementation can ensure the sustainability of photo archives, enabling them to continue passing on collective memory to the community. The role of the government is not only related to the preservation and utilization of photo archives, but also to the protection of heritage tourism in the future.]]>
