<![CDATA[Cancer is characterized by abnormal, uncontrolled cellular proliferation and its incidence in women continues to rise, including in Central Java, Indonesia. Women undergoing cancer treatment frequently experience psychological distress such as hopelessness, pessimism, and loss of motivation, which can influence their self-efficacy, coping mechanisms, and overall life quality. This study aimed to examine the correlations of self-efficacy and coping mechanisms with the life quality of women with cancer at Dr. Kariadi General Hospital, Semarang. A quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach was applied. The population comprised 1,820 women diagnosed with breast, ovarian, cervical, and endometrial cancer, from which 106 respondents were selected through purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were collected using the Self-Efficacy for Managing Chronic Disease (SEMCD6) questionnaire, the Cancer Coping Questionnaire, and the EORTC QLQ-C30, then analyzed using Spearman's rank correlation test. The results showed that most respondents had high self-efficacy (79.2%), adaptive coping mechanisms (93.4%), and good life quality (90.0%). Spearman's rank correlation revealed no significant correlation between self-efficacy and life quality (p = 0.138; r = 0.145) or between coping mechanisms and life quality (p = 0.402; r = 0.082), both showing a very weak positive correlation. These findings indicate that the life quality of women with cancer is shaped by multiple interacting factors beyond self-efficacy and coping mechanisms alone, such as family and spiritual support, physical symptoms, and cancer stage. Future researchers should explore additional determinants of life quality among women with cancer.]]>
