<![CDATA[Shoe care is an important step in maintaining the cleanliness, comfort, and lifespan of footwear so that it remains suitable for use. The poor understanding of shoe care among the public motivates the author to develop a web-based information system that implements the forward chaining method to generate accurate shoe care recommendations. The website system was built by adopting the Model View Controller (MVC) structure, PHP programming language, and using the Laravel framework to improve code regularity and ease of system maintenance. The forward chaining method utilises available data and correlates it with rules to obtain data so as to reach appropriate conclusions. The forward chaining system on the website basically has fifteen types of complaints, eight rules, and eight types of solutions provided. The research results indicate that solutions or recommendations are provided if all complaints selected by the customer comply with the available rules. Functional testing shows that every feature works well. The results of non-functional testing show that no solution will be provided if no rules are met, and the forward chaining system built on the website has an accuracy of 33.3% if 1/3 of the rules are met and an accuracy of 100% if all rule conditions are met.]]>
