<![CDATA[Spiritual crises have become major challenges in modern society due to globalization, digitalization, and the growing dominance of materialistic values, which weaken religious consciousness and contribute to psycho-spiritual problems. This phenomenon is closely related to the Qur’anic concept of qolbun maridh (diseased heart), describing a spiritually impaired heart that cannot properly perceive or respond to divine guidance. This study examines spiritual crises as a contributing factor to the emergence of qolbun maridh from the Qur’anic perspective through thematic (maudhu’i) interpretation. This qualitative library research uses Qur’anic verses concerning spiritual illness and crises as primary data, selected according to thematic relevance, including Q.S. Al-Baqarah [2]:10, Al-Anfal [8]:49, Al-Ma’idah [5]:52, At-Takathur [102]:1–2, Al-Hadid [57]:20, Yunus [10]:7–8, Ar-Ra’d [13]:28, Al-Mutaffifin [83]:14, Ash-Shams [91]:9–10, and Az-Zumar [39]:53. The verses were analyzed through thematic interpretation supported by classical and contemporary Qur’anic exegeses and relevant scholarly literature. The findings indicate that spiritual crises involve excessive material orientation, loss of life’s meaning, diminished remembrance of God (dhikr), and weakened religious awareness. These conditions contribute to qolbun maridh through declining faith, doubt (shakk), and domination of worldly desires (hawa nafs). The Qur’an offers comprehensive remedies through strengthening faith (iman), self-purification (tazkiyat al-nafs), remembrance of God (dhikr), repentance (tawbah), contemplation of the Qur’an (tadabbur), and reliance upon God (tawakkal). The novelty lies in integrating contemporary spiritual crises with qolbun maridh through thematic interpretation, bridging normative Qur’anic teachings and contemporary psycho-spiritual issues. It emphasizes restoring spiritual awareness, religious resilience, and spiritual balance in contemporary life.]]>
