<![CDATA[Kendalsari Village faces the issue of accumulating agricultural and household yard biomass waste, which is typically disposed of through open burning. Meanwhile, a large portion of the community still relies on traditional wood-burning stoves that are energy-inefficient and polluting. This community service initiative aims to foster a culture of sustainable waste management and energy efficiency through environmental education and guidance on the innovative "rocket stove" (an energy-efficient stove) technology. The project employs the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, comprising stages of social mapping, participatory planning (Focus Group Discussions), action implementation (awareness-raising and stove assembly workshops), and evaluation. The results indicate a significant increase in residents' understanding and awareness regarding the dangers of waste burning and waste management practices, rising from an average of 20% to 45%. During the physical implementation phase, the target community successfully constructed and utilized "rocket stoves," which proved capable of reducing smoke emissions and cutting biomass fuel consumption by 40%–50% compared to conventional stoves. This empowerment program successfully initiated the formation of a group of environmental advocates committed to sustaining the transition to clean energy and effective waste management in Kendalsari Village.]]>
