This article analyzes the semantic transformations that arise in the process of translating jewelry terminology and their impact on translation quality. Jewelry terminology constitutes a specialized lexical layer that embodies material culture, national values, and linguocultural features. When translating such terminology from one language into another, various semantic changes can be observed. The main objective of the study is to identify the semantic transformations used in translating jewelry terms in Uzbek and English, describe their types and specific features of application, and highlight methods for preserving national and cultural content in translation. The study employs descriptive, comparative, semantic, contextual, and translation studies methods. The results of the analysis demonstrate that such semantic transformations as specification, generalization, modulation, equivalent substitution, descriptive translation, and transliteration are most frequently employed in translating jewelry terms. In particular, when translating culturally specific terms such as tumor, tillaqosh, and zebigardon, preserving their linguocultural meaning is one of the primary challenges faced by translators. The findings of the study are of theoretical and practical significance for research in translation studies, terminology, comparative linguistics, and linguocultural studies.
