This article interprets the principles of syntactic derivation of appositional constructions with coordinating conjunctions. In this context, we examine the function of adversative conjunctions as operators of syntactic derivation for appositional constructions. The article highlights how these conjunctions, appearing at the beginning of a sentence following a continuous intonational pause, serve as semantic and syntactic bases for shaping the sentence as an apposition (attachment) to the idea expressed in the leading sentences.
