This study was motivated by the low level of critical thinking skills among elementary school students. One of the causes is the lack of variation in the use of engaging and effective learning models and media. The Cooperative Learning model of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type is considered an effective strategy to improve students’ critical thinking skills, especially when supported by interactive media such as Gimkit. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Cooperative Learning model of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type assisted by Gimkit media on students’ critical thinking skills in Social Studies learning. This research used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The research instruments were pretest and posttest assessments of critical thinking skills. The results showed a significant effect of the Cooperative Learning model of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type assisted by Gimkit media on students’ critical thinking skills, with an effect contribution of 31.1%. The experimental class obtained an N-Gain score of 0.86 in the high category, while the control class obtained 0.80 in the moderate category. The study concluded that the TGT model assisted by Gimkit media was more effective than the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) model in improving students’ critical thinking skills.
