Radiology is a hospital support department essential for diagnosing and treating diseases. Accurate diagnosis requires radiographic techniques appropriate for the specific organ being examined. Broadly speaking, radiographic techniques encompass image acquisition methods, cassette size selection, collimation field determination, radiation distance, and exposure factors. This study aims to compare radiographic image quality for posteroanterior (PA) chest examinations using Focus-to-Film Distances (FFD) of 100 cm, 150 cm, and 200 cm, and to determine the optimal FFD for this procedure. This quantitative experimental study utilized literature reviews, observations, and questionnaires to achieve its objectives. The research was conducted at the Radiology Department of Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital, Banda Aceh, between January and March 2024. The methodology involved producing chest radiographs using varying FFDs of 100 cm, 150 cm, and 200 cm. The results indicate that varying the FFD (100 cm, 150 cm, and 200 cm) leads to differences in radiographic image quality for PA chest examinations.
