Mental health is one of the important aspects that supports students’ success in undergoing the educational process in higher education. Various academic, social, and personal pressures often influence the psychological condition of students. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase students' awareness and ability to maintain their mental health. One approach that can be implemented is through peer counselor training based on Islamic values. This study aims to examine the implementation of peer counselor training based on Islamic values in improving students' mental health. This research used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were students of the Islamic Education Study Program (PAI) Class C, cohort 2024 at Universitas Islam Ahmad Dahlan Sinjai who participated in the peer counselor training program. The results show that peer counselor training based on Islamic values can improve students’ understanding of the importance of mental health, enhance empathic communication skills, and foster attitudes of care and solidarity among students. In addition, the integration of Islamic values such as empathy, ukhuwah (brotherhood), and mutual help becomes an important foundation in the practice of peer counseling. Therefore, peer counselor training programs based on Islamic values can be an effective strategy in supporting students' mental health in higher education environments
