Cognitive function decline in older adults is one of the health problems that can affect quality of life, psychological well-being, and social functioning. This condition is often accompanied by anxiety, depression, and social isolation, thus requiring effective interventions to support the mental and cognitive health of the elderly. One of the non-pharmacological approaches that has been widely developed is mindfulness, which is the practice of full awareness of present experiences with an open and non-judgmental attitude. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions in overcoming cognitive function decline in older adults. The research method used was a literature review by examining various articles and studies related to the effectiveness of mindfulness in the elderly. The research process was conducted through the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data from various relevant scientific sources. The results of the review showed that mindfulness-based interventions had a positive impact on cognitive function and mental health in older adults. Most studies demonstrated improvements in cognitive function, reductions in anxiety and depression symptoms, and enhanced psychological well-being among older adults participating in mindfulness programs. Therefore, mindfulness has been proven effective as an intervention to help improve cognitive function and quality of life in older adults.
