Abstract

This study aims to analyze the chronology and dynamics of China's involvement in the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela during the 2024–2026 period. This issue is crucial given the global geopolitical shifts affecting Venezuela's domestic stability and the intervention of external actors. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical case study design, data were collected through documentation techniques from official government reports, journal articles, and credible international media. The data analysis reveals three main themes of China's involvement during the three-year period: providing moral support on the international stage, using its veto power in the UN Security Council against unilateral sanctions imposed by the United States and its Western allies, and consistently channeling economic and humanitarian aid. These findings contribute to an understanding of China's protective diplomacy and strategic alliances in Latin America, which are adaptive to external pressures. In conclusion, China's non-military interventions serve as a diplomatic shield and humanitarian savior for Venezuela, while simultaneously strengthening resistance to Western hegemony. The implications of this research emphasize the need for the international community to reassess the effectiveness of unilateral sanctions in conflict resolution. Further research is recommended to examine the long-term impact of Chinese humanitarian aid on the socio-economic recovery of Venezuelan society.   Keywords: China’s Humanitarian Diplomacy; geopolitics; humanitarian crisis; Nicolas Maduro
