Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study examines the tradition of Dhikr Lo'i in circumcision processions within the Lelamase Village community, Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara. This tradition represents a cultural-religious practice that contextually integrates Islamic educational values with local wisdom. Methodology: This study utilizes a qualitative methodology through ethnographic fieldwork techniques. Methods for gathering data comprise active observation, comprehensive interviews, and records. Of tradition practitioners, religious figures, and customary leaders. Main Findings: The results show that Dhikr Lo'i contains Islamic educational values encompassing dimensions of monotheism (tauhid), worship, morality, social values, and spirituality. This tradition also functions as an effective non-formal Islamic educational medium in shaping character, instilling values, and enhance the cultural identity of Bima peaple amid modernization. Novelty/Originality of this study: The sustainability of this culture reflects adaptive local cultural resilience while maintaining the essence of Islamic values. The study aims to describe the implementation of the Dhikr Lo'i tradition, analyze the Islamic educational values it contains, and disclose its significance in enhancing the cultural identity of the Bima community.
