This study analyzes alternative policies for handling household wastewater in the 26 Ilir Flats area of Palembang City. Domestic wastewater from bathing and washing activities is still discharged directly into drainage channels without treatment, causing environmental and sanitation problems. This study aims to identify existing problems and formulate appropriate policy alternatives using William N. Dunn’s policy analysis approach. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The analysis used Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) based on effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equity, responsiveness, and appropriateness criteria. The results indicate three policy alternatives: maintaining the status quo, optimizing the centralized domestic wastewater management system (SPALD-T), and implementing communal biofilter technology. Among these alternatives, SPALD-T optimization achieved the highest evaluation score because it provides an integrated and sustainable wastewater management solution. The MCDA results show that the optimization of SPALD-T obtained the highest score (21) compared to the application of communal biofilter technology (20) and the status quo (13).
