<![CDATA[Introduction: Oral health problems remain a major challenge in Indonesia, with a high prevalence of dental caries and poor maintenance behavior, especially among children and adolescents. Technological advancements have encouraged the use of mobile health applications as a potential educational tool to support oral health programs. This study aims to determine the role and effectiveness of mobile health apps in oral health programs. Methods: This study employed a rapid review method to evaluate the role and effectiveness of mobile health apps in promoting oral health. Article searches were conducted across four databases: PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, using Boolean operator strategies. Articles were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and screened using the PRISMA guidelines. A total of nine articles were selected for descriptive analysis. Results: All articles reported that mobile health apps functioned as interactive educational media used by children, adolescents, and parents. Three articles showed an increase in oral health knowledge, six articles reported changes in toothbrushing behavior, and four articles indicated a clinical reduction in dental plaque. The applications used showed significant effectiveness in influencing users' oral health behavior compared to conventional methods. Conclusion: mobile health apps play an important and proven role in supporting oral health programs. These applications have been shown to improve knowledge, enhance oral care behaviors, and clinically reduce dental plaque. The flexibility and ease of use of mobile health apps make them a viable alternative for promoting oral health, particularly in areas with limited access to healthcare services. These findings contribute scientifically to understanding the effectiveness of mobile health applications in increasing knowledge and changing oral health behaviors. Furthermore, such applications hold significant potential as educational tools for health practitioners to efficiently promote healthy lifestyles to the broader community.]]>
