<![CDATA[Introduction: Natural disasters in Indonesia disproportionately affect vulnerable groups, particularly women and families in high-risk areas. Despite improvements in infrastructure and emergency response, psychosocial preparedness at the household level remains limited, which is an important gap in social psychiatry and community resilience. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a Family Empowerment Model combining logotherapy and psychoeducation in enhancing disaster preparedness among women in Pasaman Regency, Indonesia. Methods: In this quasi-experimental study (n = 68), participants were assigned to two intervention groups: (1) logotherapy only, and (2) logotherapy plus psychoeducation. The intervention consisted of five weekly sessions that integrated meaning-centered therapy and disaster education. Preparedness was assessed pre- and post-intervention across five domains: knowledge and attitude, early warning awareness, emergency planning, policy understanding, and resource mobilization. Results: Both intervention groups showed significant improvements (p < 0.001) across all domains. Both intervention groups showed improvements in disaster preparedness following the intervention, with larger descriptive score changes observed in the combined intervention group. Conclusions: The integration of logotherapy with psychoeducation significantly strengthens psychosocial readiness and practical preparedness in households in disaster-prone communities. This culturally responsive and gender-sensitive model aligns with the journal’s focus on community psychiatry and offers a scalable approach to inclusively reduce disaster risks. Its applicability may extend to other vulnerable populations, such as older adults and people with disabilities.]]>
