Abstract

Burnout among housewives has become an increasingly common problem due to continuous domestic workloads, multiple role demands, limited rest, inadequate social support, and insufficient attention to mental health. This condition is characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of emotional coping strategies through restorative yoga in reducing burnout among housewives. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group approach was employed. The study population consisted of 202 housewives in Robayan Village, with a sample of 64 participants selected using purposive sampling, including 32 participants in the intervention group and 32 participants in the control group. Burnout levels were measured before and after the intervention using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) questionnaire. Data were analyzed through instrument validity testing, univariate analysis, and bivariate analysis using the Dependent t-test and Independent t-test, as the data were normally distributed. The findings revealed that restorative yoga significantly reduced burnout levels among participants in the intervention group, whereas no significant changes were observed in the control group. Furthermore, there was a statistically significant difference in burnout levels between the intervention and control groups following the intervention. These findings indicate that restorative yoga is an effective emotional coping strategy for reducing burnout among housewives. This study provides scientific evidence supporting the development of non-pharmacological interventions to improve mental health and psychological well-being among housewives.
