Survey research is one of the most commonly used designs in educational research because it can provide an overview of the conditions, opinions, attitudes, and behaviors of a group based on data obtained from a research sample. In the field of Islamic Religious Education (IRE), the survey design is widely used to examine various aspects, such as students’ level of religiosity, the effectiveness of instruction, and responses to Islamic education programs. This article aims to explain the concepts, characteristics, and application of the survey research design in Islamic Religious Education research. The study employs a qualitative approach using the literature review method (library research). Data were obtained from various relevant sources, such as books, scientific journals, and previous research findings discussing survey designs in the field of education. The collected data were then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that survey research designs offer advantages in effectively and systematically collecting data from a large number of respondents. Furthermore, this design can be used to identify actual conditions in the field and serve as a foundation for the evaluation and development of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) instruction. Therefore, selecting a survey design appropriate to the research objectives is crucial for generating valid and reliable data.
