Arm strength is one of the essential physical components supporting the successful execution of volleyball passing skills among elementary school students. However, preliminary observations at SD Negeri 1 Plajan revealed that many students had inadequate arm strength, resulting in poor passing performance. This study aimed to examine the effect of volleyball passing drills using a rope obstacle on students' arm strength. A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The participants consisted of 15 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Plajan. Data were collected through arm strength tests administered before and after the intervention. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a normality test, simple linear regression, the F-test (ANOVA), and the partial t-test. The findings indicated that the mean score increased from 5.13 on the pretest to 7.80 on the posttest. Regression analysis yielded a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.881 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.777, indicating that the intervention accounted for 77.7% of the variance in students' arm strength. Furthermore, both the F-test and the partial t-test produced a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), demonstrating that volleyball passing drills using a rope obstacle had a statistically significant positive effect on students' arm strength. Therefore, this training method can be recommended as an effective instructional strategy for improving arm strength in elementary school volleyball learning.
