This study was motivated by the low level of concept understanding among fourth-grade students of MI At-Taqwa 18 Bekasi City on the topic of area and perimeter of plane figures, with 57% of class IV-A students and 47% of class IV-B students failing to reach the Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP) of 74. This research aimed to examine students’ concept understanding using picture-based media in the control class and Monopoly Math media in the experimental class, and to determine the difference in the average increase of concept understanding between the two. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design was applied, involving 70 students (35 in each class) across six meetings in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, N-Gain Score, and the Mann-Whitney test. Results showed the experimental class’s posttest mean (72.74, moderate category) exceeded the control class’s (66.51, low category), with N-Gain scores of 0.5181 and 0.4473 respectively, both moderate. The Mann-Whitney test on N-Gain scores yielded Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.043 (< 0.05), so H0 was rejected. Monopoly Math media was thus significantly more effective in improving students’ understanding of area and perimeter concepts than picture-based media.
