Abstract

Background: Ketahanan pangan dan keamanan bahan kimia merupakan aspek penting dalam pertanian berkelanjutan. Petani di Desa Cimuncang, Kabupaten Sumedang, masih memiliki pemahaman yang terbatas mengenai risiko penggunaan pupuk dan pestisida kimia serta alternatif ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan wawasan dan pengetahuan petani mengenai ketahanan pangan, risiko paparan bahan kimia pertanian, dan alternatif pupuk organik berbasis senyawa humat di Desa Cimuncang. Metode: Sebanyak 40 petani mengikuti rangkaian kegiatan yang terdiri atas pre-test, penyuluhan, diskusi interaktif, dan post-test. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji t berpasangan untuk menilai perubahan pengetahuan peserta. Hasil: Peningkatan rata-rata skor dari 37% pada pre-test menjadi 82% pada post-test, dengan perbedaan yang bermakna secara statistik (p < 0,001) dan nilai effect size yang sangat besar (Cohen’s d = 4,51). Kegiatan penyuluhan efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran awal petani mengenai praktik pertanian yang lebih aman dan berkelanjutan. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran petani terhadap pertanian ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan lanjutan berupa pendampingan lapangan diperlukan untuk memastikan penerapan pengetahuan tersebut dalam praktik pertanian sehari-hari
