The purpose of this study is to describe the types of errors made by eighth-grade students at SMPN 2 Blitar. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The data, consisting of worksheet assignments and interviews, were analyzed using purposive sampling and grouped into three ability categories high, moderate, and low based on Ennis’s criteria for critical thinking: Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity, and Overview. The results revealed that the three selected research subjects exhibited different error patterns. The high-ability subject met most of the indicators but made errors on the Overview indicator. The moderate-ability subject made errors on the Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity, and Overview indicators. In contrast, the low-ability subject made errors on all of Ennis’s indicators.
