This study aims to improve the learning engagement of second-grade students at SD Negeri 62 Ambon through the application of a cooperative learning model in thematic learning. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, implemented in two cycles. Twenty second-grade students participated in the study. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and analysis of student assessment results. Data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively using percentages and average student scores. The results showed that the implementation of the cooperative learning model increased student learning engagement from 30% at baseline to 60% in cycle I and 85% in cycle II. The assessment results showed a class average of 69.75, with a learning completion percentage of 65%. The findings demonstrate that the cooperative learning model is effective in increasing student learning engagement and supporting improved learning outcomes in thematic learning.
