The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed democratic practices by reshaping the dissemination of information, political communication, and citizen participation in digital spaces. At the same time, AI has heightened the risks of disinformation, hate speech, deepfakes, and polarization, which may undermine the quality of democracy. This study aims to analyze the role of democratic education in strengthening civic literacy to address these challenges. The study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method and analyzes various scholarly literature and policy documents through content analysis. The findings indicate that democratic education needs to integrate digital literacy, AI literacy, critical thinking skills, digital ethics, and responsible civic participation. These strategies can be implemented through the integration of AI literacy into Pancasila and Civic Education learning, the application of participatory problem-based learning, and the enhancement of teachers’ competencies. These efforts are expected to foster critical, adaptive, and character-driven digital citizens, enabling AI to be utilized as a means of strengthening democratic values. Keywords: Democratic Education, Artificial Intelligence, Civic Literacy, Disinformation, Polarization.
