The high level of consumptive behavior among university students is influenced by various factors originating from both internal and external environments. Lifestyle changes in the modern era and the increasing intensity of social media usage are presumed to contribute to the emergence of consumptive tendencies among students. This study aims to examine the influence of lifestyle and social media platforms on the consumptive behavior of female students at Universitas Nusa Cendana. Female students were selected as the research subjects due to their distinct consumption characteristics. This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A total of 100 female students were selected as the sample using accidental sampling, as respondents were chosen based on accessibility and their fulfillment of predetermined research criteria. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that lifestyle and social media usage have a positive and significant effect on students’ consumptive behavior, both partially and simultaneously. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 74.4% reflects that students’ consumptive behavior can be explained by lifestyle and social media, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors beyond the scope of this study. These results demonstrate that an increased lifestyle orientation and higher intensity of social media usage are associated with a greater tendency toward consumptive behavior among students. Therefore, this study recommends that students develop greater awareness in managing their lifestyle and social media usage to prevent excessive consumptive behavior.
