Abstract. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is commonly associated with anemia due to decreased erythropoietin production by the kidneys, resulting in impaired erythropoiesis and reduced hemoglobin, hematocrit, and erythrocyte levels. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of erythropoietin-containing combination therapy based on changes in hemoglobin, hematocrit, and erythrocyte levels in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis at Bandung Kiwari Regional Hospital. A descriptive observational study with a retrospective approach was conducted using medical records of 53 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed descriptively, while statistical analyses were performed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test followed by the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that 62% of patients achieved the target hemoglobin response of 0.5–1.5 g/dL. The combination of epoetin alfa and folic acid, as well as epoetin alfa, folic acid, and vitamin B12, significantly increased hemoglobin, hematocrit, and erythrocyte levels (p<0.05). In conclusion, erythropoietin-containing combination therapy was effective in improving hemoglobin, hematocrit, and erythrocyte levels in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis.
